converting .avi files to mp3?

Hi,

Is there a utility that I can use to either convert avi files to mp3 or get the sound from them and then put that into mp3? If so what can I use and where do I get it from?

If you've got Winamp, there's a out to mp3 plugin, play the file using that plugin instead of the normal waveout plugin, and it'll convert it to mp3, do this for each avi file, hth.
